Health and wellness is a global industry, but with so much information out there it can be difficult to know where to begin.

Drink more water

We are water-based creatures and we live on this beautiful blue planet. Keeping up our water intake keeps things flowing in the body. It helps cells to communicate, eliminates toxins and aids in mental functioning. If you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated, so drinking good quality water throughout the day is a great first step towards better health.

Cut down on gluten

Have you ever wondered why so many people seem to suffer from gluten intolerance? It is often dismissed as a modern trend, but the fact is that virtually everyone would benefit from less gluten. Gut health is essential to our overall wellbeing, and there is an increasing body of research that suggests that many modern diseases and syndromes (ADHD, for example) actually stem from issues in the gut. Flour and water combine to make glue or wallpaper paste, so it seems common sense to say that too much is not good for our digestive tract.

Eat less dairy

Similarly, there is a reason that so many people are dairy intolerant.  Casein, a protein in dairy, is implicated in the development of a range of diseases, including cancer. Dairy also causes the body to produce catarrh, a gluggy substance that leads to the production of phlegm.  You will have clearer airways and better digestion by limiting your intake of dairy.

Cut down on meat

A plant-based diet is your best defence against heart disease, bowel cancer and a range of other health issues. In addition to this, by cutting down on meat you are being kinder to the environment and to the many wonderful creatures who share our planet.

Less screen time

Modern life and work is increasingly dependent on screen time, bathing us in electromagnetic waves that have a negative effect on our health and mood; does anyone really feel good after eight hours in front of a screen?

Exercise more

There are many benefits to physical activity. By exercising regularly you will almost certainly feel and look better, and increase your chances of living longer. You will oxygenate your body and lighten your mood.

Be grateful

Stress and anger are toxic to our bodies, but gratitude provides a great antidote. By choosing to be grateful for things that we do have, we will bring more of what we want into our lives. We will be happier, and therefore healthier too.

Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables

This is a bit of a no brainer, but is so vital to good health that the list would not be complete without it!
